Shady Acres Farm and Apiary is a small family farm located on the banks of Chickamauga Lake in northern Hamilton County TN.  Our goal is create a sustainable lifestyle by producing much of our food requirements, while also minimizing our impact on the environment.  To reach this goal, we maintain gardens, a fruit and nut tree orchard, and a honey bee apiary.  We grow a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, nuts, and berries.  The honey bees serve a critical role by pollinating our plants and trees, while also providing pure raw honey as part of our diet.  The gardens and orchard return the favor to the honey bees by providing pollen and nectar sources to keep their hives healthy, which allows them to produce more healthy bees.
